Composer and drummer Tetyana Haraschuk is an original. Her commitment to values including hard work and kindness combine with her natural sensitivity and gift for storytelling and come through in her music—intricately textured, rhythmically detailed, incorporating moods ranging from delicate to aggressive, and always deeply felt. Born in Ukraine to Ukrainian and Cuban parents and educated at the University of Manitoba and Berklee College of Music, Tetyana has independently released an EP and two albums of original music, as well as played with her trio in countries including Spain and Brazil, written commissioned works for the Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra, among others, and served as sessional instructor of jazz drumset at the University of Manitoba.
