Hanna Hashi is currently in her 4th year of an undergrad in Music Education at the University of Saskatchewan. She is from Winnipeg, Manitoba, and is currently completing her degree with trumpet as her primary instrument. She currently performs in the University of Saskatchewan Wind Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, and Siren's brass quintet. Hanna is the first recipient of the USask SSHRC USRA award for students of black ancestry and has presented her research of Julia Perry’s works for wind instrumentation at the University of Saskatchewan’s Undergraduate Research Symposium in 2023. Hanna plans to be a music educator and advocates for the study of music by marginalized composers.
