A decade ago the Saskatoon Jazz Orchestra (SJO) was nothing more than a dream.

This year at the Sasktel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival, we’re capping off our 10th anniversary season with a concert conceived to celebrate what a dream coming true can look like.

This musical mosaic celebrates 10 years of SJO partnership with the Saskatchewan Jazz Festival, with a focus on repertoire inspired by the creative imaginations of Stevie Wonder, Radio Head, Steely Dan, Canadian composer Amanda Tossoff, a score of masterful arrangers (such as Silas Friesen) and so much more! 

Saskatchewan-based vocalist Tatrina Tai joins the SJO for in tribute to Saskatchewan Jazz Festival Special Recognition Award recipient Mr. Elwood Flynn. We’ll be featuring 2024 Jazz Intensive faculty Emmett Fortosky (bass), Tara Davidson (sax), Ted Warren (drums), Paul Suchan (piano/composer), Mo Lefever (guitar), Kayla Solomon (trumpet), SJO A.D. Dean McNeill (trumpet) and other very special guests.
