Some concerts become a habit, and this is ours. Every December the Saskatoon Jazz Orchestra (SJO) turns the Broadway Theatre over to the music of the season, and every December the room fills with people who have been coming for years alongside people hearing us for the first time.
The programme brings together beloved Christmas classics, festive seasonal favourites and fresh jazz arrangements written for large ensemble. Some of it will be familiar from the radio you grew up with. Some of it will not sound like anything you have heard those tunes do before.
We will be joined by outstanding guest artists from across Saskatchewan's music community, a reminder of how much talent this city and this province have to draw on. Their names will be announced closer to the date.
Whether you are continuing a cherished holiday tradition or hearing the SJO for the first time, we hope you will join us for an evening of music and seasonal cheer for audiences of all ages.
